Service Foundation Since 1948, the Illinois AMVETS Service Foundation has funded grants towards veterans' claim services, scholarships, and furnishing medical supplies to Veterans' Homes and Hospitals. Health Care Facility The Illinois AMVETS Health Care Facility is a source of funding for medical research, rehabilitation, equipment, supplies, and building improvements for the Veterans' Hospitals and Veterans' Homes in the State of Illinois. The Illinois AMVETS Health Care Facility is designated a 501(c)(3) non-for-profit exemption.

Dreams Unlimited The Dreams Unlimited is an entity of the AMVETS Department of Illinois in which they provide monetary grants to terminally ill children and children with special needs. The Illinois AMVETS Dreams Unlimited is designated a 501(c)(19) non-for-profit exemption.

All Honorably Discharged Veterans are eligible to become members of AMVETS. There are over 100 AMVETS' Posts located in Illinois with dues ranging from $15.00 to $30.00 for Annual Membership and $180.00 for a Life Membership.
